The installation of G DATA Management Server gets into an endless loop

When you want to install G DATA Management Server, the setup asks for a restart. Although you have done this, the installation does not continue. Instead, a restart is requested again.

The setup is in an endless loop.

The problem arises when installing SQL Express 2014. This database requires an existing .NET 3.5 for installation. On new systems with current operating systems (from Server2019), this is no longer installed by default.

One solution is to install .NET 3.5 before starting G DATA Setup. However, on Server 2019 or Windows 10 or newer, we recommend using the Use of a different SQL server version.
