G DATA Business Solutions: Configure HTTPS Port

The default port for HTTPS (port 443) is already in use on many servers (e.g. on all Exchange servers). In this case, it is necessary to set the HTTPS communication for the G DATA Management Server to an alternative port. Any free port can be used here. The G DATA Management Server certificate is required for this communication. This must be installed when changing the default setting for the newly selected port.

Note: Linux and Mac clients communicate via the HTTPS port. If the port is reconfigured, the new port must be entered locally on all Linux and Mac clients.

This is how you configure the HTTPS Port.

  1. Open the config.xml file in the directory

    C:\Program Files (x86)\G Data\G DATA AntiVirus ManagementServer
  2. Change the port to a free port (e.g. 5443).

  3. Save the change and close the editor.

  4. Starten Sie den Dienst G DATA Management Server neu.

  5. Open the command prompt (CMD.exe) with administrator rights.

  6. Navigate to the ManagementServer installation directory using the following command:

cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\G Data\G DATA AntiVirus ManagementServer"
  7. Issue the following command: GData.Business.Server.App.exe /reg.

  8. Now G DATA Management Server uses the newly assigned ports.
