View "Installing new endpoints"

The "Installing new endpoints" view provides additional information specific to the installation of your agents and also offers the option to download the installation software directly.

The list of endpoints (→ 1) contains all endpoints on which the G DATA Agent is installed.

Setupname

Setup name of the endpoint on which the agent is installed.

Setup-ID

The Setup-ID used to install the G DATA Agent.

By clicking on Copy

, the Setup-ID can be copied to the clipboard.

Organization Unit

Displays the OU to which the endpoint is assigned.

Short-Lived VM

Indicates whether the respective endpoint is a system that is regularly reinstalled.

Update Source

Specifies the source from which updates for the G DATA Agent are installed. "Standard" means that updates come from G DATA. If a different source has been set, this will be displayed here.

Stop malicious code

Indicates whether malicious code can be stopped automatically.

Policy Control

Indicates whether Policy Control is enabled on the endpoint.

The search and filter options are located in the upper right corner of the table (→ 2). With the search Search , specific endpoints can be displayed based on Setup Name or Setup-ID. With the filter options , you can selectively hide individual table columns.

Downloading the installation software (→ 3)

You can also download the installation software for the G DATA Agent in the "Installing new endpoints" view.

Important information on using clone templates / images.

The G DATA Agent must not be installed on images that will be subsequently used to clone the image onto other systems. The installation of the G DATA Agent must always be performed after a cloning operation to ensure that incidents can be uniquely identified.

To do this, first select the operating system for which you require the installation software.

Then choose whether you want to download the software directly or copy the link to the download page to the clipboard.

You can now install the G DATA Agent on the desired endpoint. You can simply copy the required Setup-ID from the list of endpoints.

Creating a New setup configuration (→ 4)

You can easily create a new setup configuration. To do so, simply click on + Add setup configuration in the upper-right corner above the overview table of all endpoints.

The window for creating a new setup configuration will open. Here, you have a variety of configuration options.

Name

Here, you can freely choose a name for the new setup configuration.

Organization unit

Here, you can select an organization unit for the new setup configuration.

Update source (optional)

Here you can specify an alternative source for G DATA Agents' updates. You also have the option of using the default update source from G DATA as a fallback or not.

Make sure that the specified source is accessible to systems using the setup configuration, especially if you disable the fallback. Outdated agents can pose a security risk!

Short-lived VM?

Use this toggle to specify whether this is a short-lived VM.

Response by analysts

This toggle controls whether G DATA Security Analysts can handle incidents directly on the system or whether these are only analyzed and reported, without analysts having the ability to intervene directly.

Disabling the ability for G DATA Security Analysts to intervene could potentially pose a security risk. Please use this option with caution.

Once you have finished configuring the new setup, create it by clicking Create setup configuration.
