G DATA MXDR

Creating a New Setup Configuration

To create a new setup configuration, click Add setup configuration in the upper-right corner above the overview table of all Endpoints.

Creating a new setup configuration

The window for creating a new setup configuration opens.
Several configuration options are available.

Name

Enter a name for the new setup configuration here.

Organization Unit

Select the Organization Unit on whose Endpoints you want to install agents using this configuration.

Do not select the license’s top-level Organization Unit here. Instead, select one of its subordinate Organization Units (for example, DEFAULT, another Organization Unit at that level, or an Organization Unit at a lower level). Selecting the top-level Organization Unit here will not work.

Update source (optional)

Enter the domain of your reverse proxy here. Also refer to the instructions for setting up a proxy. The proxy can be used to cache Agent updates. This ensures that each update is fetched only once and made available by the proxy to G DATA Agent running on Endpoints.

Make sure that G DATA Agent can reach the specified proxy on both port 80 and port 443. Outdated agents pose a security risk!

Short-lived VM?

Use this toggle to specify whether this is a short-lived virtual machine.

Stop malicious code

Use this toggle to prevent detected malicious code from being stopped.

Disabling this protective function poses a security risk, and the function should not be disabled. This option is provided for use only in exceptional cases. G DATA assumes no liability for any resulting damage.

Response by analysts

This toggle controls whether G DATA Security Analyst can respond directly to Incidents on the system or whether Incidents are only analyzed and reported, without allowing analysts to intervene directly.

Disabling access for analysts may pose a security risk. Disable this option only after careful consideration. If access is disabled, G DATA assumes no liability for any resulting damage.

When you have finished specifying the settings for the new setup configuration, click Create setup configuration to create it.
