Program update with these modifications

Configuration and navigation in the portal:

  • You can now select an email address for the test mailing from a drop-down list of imported users on the Check page of the Mail Server Configuration (see point 9.).

  • The option activate/deactivate domains has been removed.
Each verified domain of a mail server is considered activated.

Incoming emails from outside to users whose domain was not previously activated are scanned. Scans of internal emails are deactivated by default for these users. This prevents the start of scans in mailboxes that should not have been scanned before this change.

  • Now the scan of incoming emails (external emails), the recheck (internal emails) and the globally activated status messages can now configured user-specific.

  • You can now navigate directly to the relevant detail area via the dashboard tiles E-mails in quarantine, Protected mail servers, Protected domain domains and Protected users.

  • A query of the authorizations for the G DATA 365 | Mail Protection has been added in the server settings.
If you do not have all the required permissions for G DATA 365 | Mail Protection in Exchange Online, you will be able to see what permissions you still need to set there.

Changes G DATA 365 | Mail Protection Quarantine

  • Changes to the handling of infected e-mails:
Previously, infected emails that had already been delivered were moved to a hidden folder in the user’s mailbox. This applies in particular to internal e-mails between employees. The downside was that infected emails could be found using Outlook search.
Therefore, infected emails are now deleted from the user’s mailbox and moved to the G DATA 365 | Mail Protection quarantine. When an administrator unblocks such an email, the user receives a new email with the original email attached.

  • A button has been added to the quarantine detail page that can be used to conveniently add blocked URLs to the whitelist.

  • A new column User has been added to the overview on the quarantine details page. This makes the original quarantined email recipient immediately visible.

Miscellaneous

  • The sender e-mail address of the G DATA 365 | Mail Protection changes:

Status messages are sent from quarantine@mailprotection.gdata.de.
Test e-mails are sent from testmail@mailprotection.gdata.de.

  • Problems with sorting quarantine emails by time of receipt have been fixed.

  • Problems with downloading the log archive have been fixed.
