Scope of services of a standard phishing campaign

When you purchase G DATA Phishing Simulation, you receive a service that sends technically authentic phishing emails to the recipient addresses you specify. However, these emails do not link to actual scam websites; instead, they simply connect to our statistics servers.

This allows you to assess the risks within your organization using verifiable data and helps your employees better recognize phishing threats. A campaign is defined as one instance of the described process (see Duration and Delivery). The number of times you can repeat these instances depends on the number of campaigns you have purchased.

To manage and run your campaign(s), you will have online access to your personal Awareness Manager. Local installations are not required, but if you wish, you can add a reporting button to your participants’ Outlook on your premises.

To carry out such a campaign, it is necessary to take preparatory steps to ensure that the emails are delivered smoothly. These steps are not part of the product and are the responsibility of the email server administrator.

Delivery time and mailing of a campaign

  • Duration of four weeks, one e-mail per week and employee.

  • Mailing coordinated with typical office hours (Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM).
    Mailing time at random (not all participants receive the e-mails at the same time).

Content

  • E-mails are based on real cases.

  • Three e-mails each with a link to a coordinated website and one e-mail with an attachment (empty file in .docx format, no malicious code).

  • Partly personalized approach.
