This release adds Android Enterprise to G DATA Mobile Device Management Android management. Initially, the "Fully Managed" management mode is available for company-owned Android devices.

Android Enterprise provides deeper, standardized integration with the Android operating system. This allows devices, apps, and security policies to be managed more centrally and comprehensively.

  • Set up fully managed Android devices
Company-owned devices can be set up with Android Enterprise using a QR code and managed entirely through MDM.

  • Enforce security policies directly through Android
Device settings and security requirements, such as password requirements or compliance rules, can be configured centrally and enforced by the system.

  • Manage business apps through Managed Google Play
Apps can be selected and deployed centrally and installed automatically. Supported apps can also be preconfigured using managed configurations.

  • Control app use and permissions centrally
Administrators can specify which apps are available on managed devices and centrally manage permissions for supported apps.

  • Integrate Managed Google Accounts
When a Managed Google domain is connected, Managed Google Accounts can be assigned to managed devices, and sign-in can be made mandatory if needed.

  • Continue using G DATA security features
The G DATA Endpoint Security Agent is also installed on Android Enterprise devices and supplements device management with features such as malware protection, root detection, and web protection.

The existing app-based management method for Android remains available.
