Important information about Microsoft ending support for Windows 10

By continuing to use the operating system, which will no longer be supported for all users after the cutoff date of October 14, 2025, you make it easier for cyber attackers and scammers.

Windows 10 users who are not eligible for extended support will not receive any further updates, patches, or fixes after the stated date in 2025. In plain terms: Cybercriminals are just waiting for a very large number of users to become easy victims.

As soon as an attacker publishes information after October 14, 2025 about new vulnerabilities in Windows 10 or software from other vendors for Windows 10 (which will undoubtedly happen), these vulnerabilities will remain and can continue to be exploited. This would constitute a zero-day vulnerability that remains active indefinitely. We explicitly recommend using a current version of Windows with the latest security updates.

We will continue to offer our products for Windows 10 as planned, including in the foreseeable future. In doing so, we want to ensure that users who modernize their operating system late are not left completely without antivirus protection. For this reason, the familiar antivirus software will continue to work on these systems.

BUT: Compatibility of the antivirus product does not mean that the computer is fully protected. In this case, protection is only part of the picture. System integrity and security are matters in which many interdependent factors play a role, and Windows 10 as well as outdated software will become the weak link in the security chain. A single vulnerability is enough to compromise the entire system. Antivirus products are designed to provide protection against malware and cyber threats, and of course we will continue to provide this protection under Windows 10 in the future. A large portion of the malware that attempts to exploit vulnerabilities after the end of the Windows 10 support period will be detected, provided the antivirus product is kept up to date.

Nevertheless, please note that antivirus software also cannot provide comprehensive protection if Windows 10 is no longer supported.
