My G DATA

This article describes how to use G DATA Device Management to transfer your license to a new system, such as after purchasing a new computer.

Simply enter your access data on the new system where you receive the message (in the G DATA product) that your license is currently not sufficient. proceed as follows:

Click Yes, manage license in MY GDATA. You will be automatically logged into MY G DATA. Alternatively you can log in with your access data on the G DATA website.

Navigate to the view "My Devices" in the My G DATA portal.

You will now see an overview of all active devices. Select the device you want to deactivate and click Manage → in the lower right corner of the corresponding tile.

In the details window, click on Remove device. Confirm this in the window that opens. This will deactivate and remove the device.

If you do not know which device to disable, it may be useful to disable a device, that has not loaded virus signatures for a very long time.

Now open your G DATA software again and start a virus signature update or enter your access data anew.

This completes the transfer of the license.
